General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and Oleosorb Global private limited sign addendum for Enhance Collaboration for Environmental Innovation
General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University has recently taken a significant step forward in its collaboration with Oleosorb Global (Pvt.) Ltd. On February 26, 2024, both entities signed an addendum to their joint venture agreement, initially established on March 8, 2023. This addendum focuses on facilitating exploration, experimentation, and feasibility studies aimed at developing a product designed for the cleanup of hydrocarbon and other oil spills.
Representing General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara VSV,USP,psc,MMaritimePol,BSc(DS) and Director of the Institute of Combinatorial Advanced Research and Education (KDU-CARE) Prof. Thushara Weerawardane, were the signatories to the agreement. On behalf of Oleosorb Global (Pvt.) Ltd., Mr. Dimantha Kohombanwickramage, Director, and Mr. MYM Ali, Director, inked the agreement.
Dr. Himali Jayasinghearachchi, Principal Scientist and Senior Lecturer, who spearheaded research efforts in discovering oil-eating microorganisms, also participated in this milestone event, highlighting the dedication of both parties to advancing environmental solutions.
