Gender Awareness Workshops at KDU 2022

The KDU Centre for Gender Equity and Equality conducted a number of workshops to increase awareness of gender equity and equality among KDU community. With the support of faculty representatives of CGEE, separate workshops were conducted at seven faculties from 06/09/2022 to 22/09/2022.

The main objective of these workshops was to enhance the knowledge of the participants on the concept of gender equity and equality and improve their skills to ensure gender equity of various situation and help achieve gender equality. Technology Facilitated Sexual Violence (TFSV), Gender Discrimination in Sri Lankan Society: Cultural Perspective, Gender in International Relationships were some of the areas covered in these workshops.

More than 90 participants participated for each workshop and participants had the opportunity to ask questions, get clarifications and discuss their opinions about the presentations. Resource persons were outsourced from various universities and government institutions.
