CGEE

CGEE completed another successful webinar on Gender-related issues on September 25th, 2021 via zoom. More than 120 students from different faculties of KDU and faculty representatives of CGEE participated in the workshop. 

Dr. Sujatha Samarakoon (Consultant Venereologist, Advocacy Activist Gender-Based Violence) shared many important facts regarding “Pandemic and Domestic Violence” while Ms. Deepanjalie Abeywardena (Head of Media Research, Verité Research) focused on “Media, Youth, and Gender-Based Violence”. “Legal aspect of Media related Gender-Based Violence” was extensively presented by Ms. Himali Kularathne (Attorney-at-law).  

The webinar was moderated by Ms. Isha Wedasingha Miranda (Independent Consultant, Trainer, Facilitator of Programmes & Monitoring & Evaluation, and also an Activist Advocacy of SDG 16, 5 &10).  

The presentations were followed by a very productive Q & A session where the participants had the opportunity to ask questions, get clarifications and discuss their opinions about the presentations.
