In the presence of the Malaysian High Commissioner, KDU and the National Defence University of Malaysia sign a memorandum of understanding

High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Tan Yang Thai visited General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) n September 23, 2022. The High Commissioner’s visit coincided with the signing of an agreement between KDU and Malaysia’s National Defence University (NDUM).

Mr. Tan Yang Thai first met the Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Peiris, and had a cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest. Following that, the MOU was signed in his presence. The High Commissioner was then presented with the MOU in a symbolic manner.

The Vice Chancellor, in his speech highlighted the importance of the MOU for both KDU and NDUM and praised the High Commissioner for the support extended by his country to the people of Sri Lanka.

Following the signing of MoU, the High Commissioner visited ‘Walawwa,’ the museum of late General Sir John Kotelawala’s mansion. The deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence & Administration), the Director of International Relations and the Registrar were also in attendance.
