It is with overwhelming pleasure that I write this preface to the new edition of Short Cases in Surgery.
It is my earnest hope that Medical Students in Clinical Surgery will enormously benefit from the new edition.
I am very much grateful to all the colleagues who have supported my effort to finalise this difficult task.
This new edition is dedicated to Major General M.P. Peiris Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University for his extraordinary enthusiasm in promoting higher education in Sri Lanka.
