The Academic Journey of Intake 40 Unfolds: The Faculty Orientation Programme

Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH) conducted a Faculty Orientation Programme for its newly enrolled students of Intake 40 on the 23rd January 2023 at the Main Auditorium, KDU. More than 200 officer cadets and day scholars who were enrolled in the BSc in Logistics Management, BSc in Management and Technical Science, BSc in Social Sciences, BSc in Applied Data Sciences Communication, and BA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages degree programmes took part in the event.

The Dean of the Faculty, Mr. WAAK Amaratunga, welcomed the students and educated them on all the vital details regarding their academic life at the faculty. Besides, Dr. LS Liyange, Director of Gender Equity and Equality, focused on KDU’s culture and how students may adapt themselves to it. The programme also featured guidance on how to use the library resources and the KDU Learning Management System, provided by the representatives form the Library and Centre for IT Support & Development Services (CITS & DS). The programme also covered information on examination by-laws and the manual of procedure.

The Heads of the three Departments attended the event and the next day, the respective Departments will conduct departmental orientation programmes.
