KDU signs an MOU with the University of Moratuwa

General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) and University of Moratuwa (UOM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 03rd February 2023, to formalize and standardize the relationship for conducting the academic programmes of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Moratuwa.

The objectives of this MOU are to develop academic programmes for medical undergraduates of University of Moratuwa with the assistance of the academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine, KDU while facilitating the medical undergraduates of the University of Moratuwa to carryout dissections and conduct practical sessions of the subject modules of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. This MOU also intends to foster the medical research collaborations between the two universities.

The Vice Chancellor of KDU addressed the gathering and emphasized the cordial relationship maintained between the two universities across multitude of academic matters including the Faculty of Engineering, KDU. He further evinced that that KDU is willing to give the fullest support and contribution for the progressive development of the newly established Faculty of Medicine at University of Moratuwa.

The Vice Chancellor of University of Moratuwa admired the positive response given by KDU for its endorsement in facilitating the medical undergraduates of the University of Moratuwa. He further requested the continuous support and goodwill of KDU for the development of the faculty as a flouring faculty.

Acting Registrar of the University of Moratuwa and Dean, Faculty of Medicine represented the University of Moratuwa, while Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration), Dean Faculty of Medicine, and some senior academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine, Director of International Relations, Adjutant, CO Admin, and Registrar took part in the signing ceremony representing KDU.
