The Long Service Awarding Ceremony (2022) and Best Employee Awarding Ceremony (2021 and 2022) of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University were held on 06th April 2023 concurrently with New Year Festival 2023. Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Major General Milinda Peiris graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with other honoured invitees.
Twenty Three (23) members of the Non Academic Civil Permanent Staff, who had completed 35, 30, and 25 years of meritorious service at this University were awarded and honoured at the event. Awardees were given a medal, a certificate and a cash prize as tokens of appreciation of their valuable, dedicated, unblemished and continuous service to the University.
In addition to that, Best Employees for the year 2021 and 2022 were also awarded at the Ceremony under the Military and Civil Staff Categories. Ten (10) employees were awarded with the Best Employee Award and they were given a Certificate and a cash prize as tokens of appreciation for their performance, special contribution to the University, leave savings etc.
