The swimming team of General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University took part in the Intermediate Age Group Swimming Championship 2023, an event organized by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU). The competition was held on 12, 13 and 14 May 2023, at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo.

Numerous clubs, institutes and schools were present at the tournament and the KDU team competed under the open category (20 and over). KDU was represented by 03 Officer Cadets and 07 Day Scholars and the team showcased exceptional performance, earning a remarkable tally of 23 First Places, 05 Second Places and 01 Third Place. The following 2 KDU swimmers were able to become the champions in Men’s and Women’s open categories.
