On August 23, 2023, a successful workshop on soft skills and professional development was organized collaboratively by the Career Guidance Advisor of the Faculty of Engineering, the IMechE Student Chapter of KDU, and the Career Guidance Unit of KDU. This informative event took place from 1500 hours to 1700 hours at the FDSS Auditorium.

The workshop featured accomplished professionals from IFS, who expertly covered the following topics:

1. Introduction to IFS and Employer Branding by Ms. Oshadi Kaumada, Executive Employer Branding.
2. Personal Branding and CV Writing by Mr. Sharon Fernando, Talent Acquisition Specialist.
3. Interview Techniques and Strategies by Ms. Chanukah Gunawardena, Manager Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding.
4. Navigating Your Career by Mr. Rukmal Fernando, Director Program Management.
5. Industry Expectations from Undergraduates by Mr. Sachit Talagala, Manager Global Consulting.
6. Question & Answer Session facilitated by Mr. Vimukthi Mahakumburua, Senior Consultant Business Applications.

This workshop aimed to equip students with the essential skills necessary to excel in the professional world. Dr. Namali Sirisoma, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, presented a letter of appreciation to the resource persons for their invaluable contributions. Additionally, Prof. Thushara Weerawardena, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, extended the token of appreciation to acknowledge their outstanding efforts.
