GOAL 7

Affordable and Clean Energy

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

Promoting affordable and clean energy in universities is crucial for sustainability and reducing environmental impact. Universities can take several measures to achieve this. Such implementations are

  1. Implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices such as LED lighting, smart HAVC systems and energy efficient appliances to reduce energy consumption.
  2. Investing in on-campus renewable energy sources like solar panels to generate clean energy,
  3. offering courses and conducting research on renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency and to raise awareness to find innovative solutions,
  4. designing and constructing buildings that meet green building standards,
  5. conducting regular energy audits to identify areas for improvement and track energy consumption,
  6. Sustainability pledge of the university to inculcate sustainability in all areas of university activity.
  7. Providing subsidized transportation for staff and students for commuting to reduce carbon footprint
  8. collaborating with local utilities and governments to explore incentives and grants for clean energy projects and,
  9. engaging students in sustainability initiatives and encouraging them to participate in energy-saving programmes and projects.
