Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sri Lanka and Maldives visits KDU

The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sri Lanka and the Maldives His Excellency Mr. Maged Mosleh made a courtesy call on Major General Milinda Peiris, the Vice-Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) on 25^th January 2022.

During his visit, the Ambassador had the opportunity to enquire about the preparations for the visit of the delegation from the Nasser Higher Military Academy of Egypt to KDU next month. During the cordial discussion, the Ambassador requested the Vice-Chancellor to explore the possibility of offering short courses for Egyptian cadets and inviting higher officials to round table discussions.

Vice-Chancellor described the model on which KDU operates, where cadet officers, police officers, and civilian students learn together in one classroom, inculcating interpersonal relationships and brotherly bondage.

Following his meeting with the VC, the Ambassador visited ‘Walawwa,’ the late General Sir John Kotelawala’s mansion. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence & Admin) and Dr. Prasanna Premadasa, Director of International Relations, were also present for the discussion with the Ambassador.
