KDU and the International Association of Universities holds a virtual meeting

A Virtual meeting was held between KDU and the International Association of Universities (IAU) to discuss about the expectations of universities from IAU and how universities can contribute in future for the vision and the mission of IAU.

The meeting began with an overview of the IAU’s activities by its Ms. Trine Jensen, followed by a brief introduction of each institution by its head. The KDU was introduced by the Vice Chancellor Maj Gen Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil.

The discussion focused on the following topics: vision/mission and the role of the IAU, four priority work areas of the IAU and the activities carried out, the IAU’s values and advocacy, and the support and engagement expected of the Association in the future.

The VC of KDU, DVC (Defence & Admin) Brig W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, DVC (Academic) Prof. KAS Dhammika, Director- International Relations Dr. KMGP Premadasa, Dean Research and Development Prof. CL Goonasekara, Director- KDU CARE Prof. Thushara Weerawardena and the HOD- Department of Strategic Studies Dr. Harinda Vidanage and Deputy Registrar Cdr HVH Deeshana joined the meeting from KDU.

Representatives from the University of Malaya and Thailand’s Suranaree University of Technology also took part in the virtual meeting.
