Meeting with the Trade Commissioner of Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka

A cordial meeting was held between the Trade Commissioner of the Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka and KDU. Ms Avanti Coonghe, visited KDU on 29^th September and had a very fruitful discussion with the Director International Relations Dr. KMGP Premadasa, Dean R&D Prof. CL Goonasekara and Senior lecturer Mr. Dulitha Hewadikaram from the Faculty of Engineering.

The objective of her visit was to explore the possibility of KDU working with potential partners in Canada. She offered help to link KDU with reputed Institutes such as the Memorial University and University of Calgary in Canada. Expressing gratitude to Ms Coonghe, Dr Premadasa said that KDU in terms of Infrastructure and Quality of teaching is as good or better than any other University in Sri Lanka and now is aiming at becoming an internationally recognized University. Both Ms Coonghe and the participants from KDU agreed to continue the dialogue. As a pleasant remembrance of her visit, a memento was presented to her by Prof. CL Goonasekara.
