The pre- conference session – KDU IRC 2022 of the Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences hosted by the Department of Quantity Surveying was held at the southern campus on 28th September 2022. The session, organized under the theme, “Adaptability of BIM in Sri Lankan Construction Industry” was conducted by a panel of esteemed resource persons in the construction industry including Ch. QS Suranga Jayasena and Ch. QS Hasitha Gunasekara. The practical component of the session was conducted by Mr. Thilina Vitharama, Technical Manager of CCIS and a graduate of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (Intake 33). Over 60 undergraduates of the Department of Quantity Surveying, KDU Southern Campus participated in the session and the discussion of the resource persons was centered on theoretical and practical application of CubiCost in addition to BIM Technology. The session concluded with a CubiCost competition and the winners were able to receive valuable gift vouchers. Rector Southern Campus, Dean FBESS, academia and military staff were present in the event.
