Guideline for Authors

Guideline to Prepare the Extended Abstract

The mode of submission is an extended abstract of maximum two (02) A4 pages of Times New Roman font size 12. The extended abstract should highlight author’s original work, either of professional practice or of research and development in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Sri Lanka..

All extended abstracts must be in English. The authors are responsible for the use of proper language and correct spelling in their submissions.

All extended abstracts should follow the author guidelines given here, and in the Extended Abstract Template. Writing on the Extended Abstract Template itself, or pasting unformatted text in place of the template text- section by section will considerably ease author’s work in formatting the submission.

All submissions to the conference are edited electronically. Please submit in .doc or .docx formats only. Maximum file size is 10 MB.

Authors have to fill an extended abstract submission form online, at the time of submission of extended abstracts online.

A panel of reviewers both national and international will review the abstracts. The decision of the Editorial Board regarding the acceptance and the mode of presentation (oral presentation/ poster) of the submission shall be final.

Oral Presentation

Please use the Conference Title and other details (an example is here) on the title page of your presentation.

Also include title of the submission, authors’ names and affiliations clearly. Please indicate the presenting author by an asterisk.

Please use standard (4:3) ppt size.

Timing of presentations will be announced with the conference programme.

An award for the best oral presentation will be awarded.

Registration for Oral Sessions

The presenting author(s), need to register for the conference. Oral presentation session details and presentation timings will be published in the coming weeks.

Poster Presentation

Indicate the Conference Title and other details (an example is downloadable here) and the details Title of the submission, Authors names and affiliations clearly on the top of poster.

Indicate the presenting author by an asterisk.

Poster presentation session details will be announced with the conference programme.

An award for the best poster presentation will be awarded.

Please follow these instructions to print your poster in landscape orientation.

Please print out the poster on your own and bring it with you..

It is recommended that you put up your poster at the designated area by 10.00 hrs on the conference date.

Please make yourself available at the poster display area of the venue to present your work.

Please take down your poster from the poster area after the afternoon refreshments.
