COMSATS University, Pakistan signed an MOU with KDU for research collaboration
KDU signs an agreement with COMSATS University to collaborate in the areas of Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, Sensors and Biosensors and Allied Fields. COMSATS university, is a leading university in the region ranked No. 03 in Pakistan and among first 200 top young universities in the world.
The Vice Chancellor of KDU Major General Milinda Peiris and the Rector of COMSATS University Prof. Dr. Muhammad T. Afzal signed the Document of Understanding on 29th September 2021 in a ceremony organized as a virtual event with the presence of Former High Commissioner of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sri Lanka H.E. Gen (Retd) Shahid Ahmad Hashmat and Counsellor (Political & Trade) the High Commission of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Pakistan Mr. UI Niyas.
Vice Chancellor of KDU in his speech assured his fullest support for the collaboration and recalled his efforts together with the former High Commissioner of Pakistan Major General Shaid Hashmat to establish a branch of COMSATS University in KDU’s Southern Campus. The former High Commissioner recalled the process they initiated in 2015 and he stressed in his speech that still it is his wish to see that happened and that he would supported wholeheartedly in such effort.
The rector of COMSATS, emphasizing his support for the collaboration, praised Sri Lankan students who are already studying in the COMSATS and offered many fully funded undergraduate and Postgraduate studentship opportunities for KDU.
