KDU to collaborate with the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies, Hawaii

A successful virtual meeting was held on 9th September 2020 with the participation of the members of Faculty of Defence and Strategic studies and the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS), Hawaii in the presence of the Vice Chancellor Major general MP Peiris.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the possibility of conducting joint research activities in following specific areas; ‘Strategic Competition of great powers in the Indian Ocean’, ‘Post COVID 19 strategies’ and ‘joint Podcasts on different aspects of security importance’.

Capt. Carlton Cramer (Dean of the College), Capt. Richard Sears (Dean of Business Administration), Professor Wade Turvold, College of Security Studies, Professor Saira Yamin, College of Security Studies, Professor Ginnie Bacay-Watson, College of Security Studies, Major. Anthony Brown, DKI-APCSS, Ms. Kamahele Cherrilynn, DKI-APCSS, Professor Shyam Tekwani, College of the Security Studies, Professor Srini Sitaraman, College of the Security Studies, Ms. Gayle Yoshikawa (Library) and Ms. Tami Rosado (Library) joined the meeting virtually from Hawaii, while Col Sylvester Perera – Dean Faculty of Defence & Strategic studies, Lt Col. MTI Gunawardena – HOD Defence & Security studies, Dr KMGP Premadasa – Director International Relations, Prof Amal Jayawardena, Prof. Charitha Goonasekara – Dean R&D, Dr Harinda Vidanage and Mr Sanath De Silva took part in the meeting from KDU
