Virtual meeting with the Academics from the University of Victoria and the Federation University of Australia

A virtual meeting was held on 25.08.2020 with the participation of the members of academic staff from KDU and two professors from the University of Victoria, Australia and the Federation University of Australia to discuss the possibility of commencing joint research activities related to Computing/ Biomedical device testing & development, Joint postgraduate student supervision and other collaborations on activities of mutual interest.

Prof CL Goonasekara, Dean R&D, Commodore JU Gunaseela- Dean Computing, Dr KMGP Premadasa -Director, International Relations, Col Lalan Fernando – Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Dr Pradeep Kalansooriya- HOD computing and the Chairman of KDU Research conference 2020, participated the meeting from KDU, while Prof Tony Sahama from the University of Victoria and Prof Andrew Stranieri from the Federation University of Australia joined the meeting virtually. Prof Andrew enquired about the possibility of jointly developing a biomedical equipment to measure vital signs with assistance of the staff from KDU teaching hospital. During the meeting, academics from Australia assured their highest support for KDU and agreed to conduct a pre-conference workshop on a selected subject.

The International Relations Office of KDU facilitated the meeting and assured its fullest support to both parties.
