The Institute for Combinatorial Advanced Research & Education (KDU-CARE) celebrated its 10th anniversary

KDU-CARE is the research, innovation, and commercialization arm of KDU, established in 2013. On the 3rd of January 2024, the academics of the institute, headed by the director, Prof. Thushara Weerawardane, and assistant director Dr. Anchala I. Kuruppu, celebrated the 10th anniversary of KDU-CARE along with welcoming the new year.

 

Currently, the institute has a number of academics who carry out cutting-edge research. KDU-CARE is proud of a fully-fledged research facility where projects span a variety of disciplines from Biomedical Sciences, Natural products, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Defence Studies, Bioinformatics to Engineering. It also hosts a cutting-edge Centre for Bioequivalence conducting bioequivalence studies. Presently, over 20 postgraduate students are registered for their MPhils under KDU-CARE. Additionally, the institute facilitates and supervises and guides many undergraduates and research assistants as they conduct their research projects. KDU-CARE has published over 50 publications in last two to three years.
