Two Pro Vice-Chancellors from Keele University, UK- Prof. Eran Edirisinghe Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and Prof. Antonius Raghubansie Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) visited KDU-CARE on the 23rd October 2023. Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry of the School of Medicine, from Keele, UK, and Hon. Director, Institute for Research and Development in Health and Social Care, Sri Lanka, Prof. Athula Sumathipala also joined the meeting. This meeting was an extension of the meeting that was carried out on the 24th of May 2023 with two delegates from Keele. Prof. Kalpa Samarakoon, Dr. Anchala Kuruppu, and Dr. Nadeesha Rathuwadu, participated in the meeting representing KDU-CARE academic staff. Dr. Anchala Kuruppu presented the research projects carried out by the staff members at KDU-CARE. A discussion was carried out on which areas KDU-CARE could collaborate with Keele, UK in the near future. A scheme benefitting both parties will be set up after more discussion in the future.
