The SUSRED AWARDS 2023 ceremony was organized by the National Science Foundation to give high value to the service rendered by scientists and researchers in the field of research and to appreciate the contribution given to the advancement of the field of science as well as the page power received by it in the national development of our country was attended by the Minister of Education Dr. Susil Premajayantha. It was held in the auditorium of the Ministry of Education on 4th April 2024. In this award ceremony, Sri Lankan Research Degree Supervisors who contributed to “Supervising Research Degrees” were awarded.
Prof. Kalpa W. Samarakoon, Professor at the KDU-CARE was awarded in recognition of being co-supervisor of the PhD titled “The study of antidiabetic and anticancer activities of the bioactive constituents of Sri Lankan marine algae Chnoospora minima and Gracilaria edulis”, offered the PhD degree to T.L. Gunathilaka from the University of Sri Jayewardenapura Sri Lanka.
National Science Foundation President Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Director General Dr. Sepalika Sudasinghe and other officials joined the event. The National Science Foundation’s Research Division organized the award ceremony.
