On the 24th of May 2023, two delegates from Keele University, UK visited KDU-CARE. Prof. Christian Mallen is currently a Research Professor in General Practice at the National Institute for Health and Care Research, and the Interim Director of the Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences. Previously he was the head of school of medicine. Dr. James Prior, is a Research Fellow in Epidemiology at the school of medicine. Along with these two delegates Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry of the School of Medicine, Keele University, UK, and Hon. Director, Institute for Research and Development in Health and Social Care, Sri Lanka, Prof. Athula Sumathipala also joined. Prof. Thushara Weerawardane, Director of KDU-CARE chaired the meeting. Dr. Anchala Kuruppu, and Dr. Himali Jayasinghearachchi also participated in the meeting representing KDU-CARE academic staff. Dr. Kuruppu presented the work carried out at the Institute to the visiting delegates. A fruitful discussion was carried out about future collaborations between Keele and KDU-CARE of KDU.
