Peer-Review Process

  1. The author shall have followed all the author guidelines of KJMS to consider the manuscript for the review process at the preliminary screening process.
  2. Prior to nominate the reviewers for evaluation process of the manuscripts received, a Licensed latest version of Turnitin® checker is used to check the manuscript for signs of plagiarism before sending it to reviewers.
  3. The similarity Index of the manuscript shall be less than 20%, to nominate the reviewers by the editorial Board.
  4. According to the journal policy, then the Editorial Board Members (EBM) nominate subject-matter experts (from around the world) for the rigorous double-blind manuscript review process.
  5. The manuscripts will be sent to the reviewers with reviewer guidelines.
  6. According to the reviewer comments, the possible decisions include:
    - Accept
    - Minor revisions
    - Major revisions
    - Reject.
  7. If one reviewer rejects the manuscript and the other accepts it with minor or major revisions, a third reviewer is nominated to make the final judgment. The manuscripts rejected by two out of three reviewers will be rejected with the Editorial Board's approval.
  8. Re-submission of the manuscript is encouraged after the incorporation of reviewer comments if manuscript belongs to the categories of major corrections or minor corrections.
  9. After incorporating amendments as per the reviewer comments received from the authors, the final draft manuscripts will be sent to the relevant reviewers to check whether the suggested revisions were incorporated to the reviewers' satisfaction.
  10. This process will be repeated several times as required until the peer reviewers and the editors are satisfied.
  11. Based on the reviewers' final comments, the Editor-in-Chief decides on acceptance of the manuscript with the approval of the Editorial Board.
  12. Then all the manuscripts are subjected to language editing by a professional English language editor to maintain the standards of the publication.
  13. The Editorial Board undertakes the final formatting of the manuscripts according to the journal guidelines.
  14. The final version of the papers will be sent to the authors for proofreading after English editing and formatting.
  15. Finally, with the permission of the Editorial Board, papers processed through this system will be accepted for publishing in the KJMS, and they will be published online on the KDU journal website, followed by printed versions.

Role of the Reviewers

  1. If nominated reviewer is unable to conduct the review process due to any reason, shall inform the editor in chief immediately.
  2. The reviewer shall notify any conflict of interest to the editor in chief immediately.
  3. The reviewer shall provide comments to improve the quality of the manuscript by filling the reviewer guideline format provided by KJMS and submit the manuscript to editor in chief with relevant comments inserted in the manuscript assisting the author to improve the quality and standard of the manuscript.
  4. The reviewer shall keep the contents of the manuscript confidential.
  5. The reviewer shall avoid any personal comments or criticisms maintaining the professional & ethical standards of the journal.
