Professor Anuji Gamage obtained funding through the Australia Awards-funded Small Grant Scheme 2024

Professor Anuji Gamage, Professor in Public Health at the Department of Paraclinical Sciences, has successfully obtained funding through the Australia Awards-funded Small Grant Scheme 2024 for the project entitled “Equal Opportunities to be Healthy: Gender-Specific Approaches to Tobacco Smoking Reduction and Cessation.” These small grants are intended to support active alumni in implementing activities that contribute to development in Sri Lanka. 
 
One of the aims of the program was to raise awareness among students aged 14-16 about smoking and its adverse effects. These initiatives were implemented in schools within the Ratmalana MoH area. 
 
The first program was held at Kotalawelapura MV with Ms. Zoe Kidd, First Secretary, Development Cooperation, Australian High Commission Sri Lanka, as the Chief guest.
