KDU Young Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2023
KDU Young Entrepreneurs Exhibition was held for the 08th consecutive year on 30th March 2023 at the FDSS building from 9.00 am to 12. 30 pm. 11 Groups representing all undergraduates of BSc in Logistics Management, and BSc in Management and Technical Sciences Degree Programs of Intake 39 of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities, organised this event under the guidance of Dr Kalpana Ambepitiya, the lecturer in charge. Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Brigadier DCA Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC – Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence and Administration), Prof. KAS Dhammika- Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Colonel RKARP Rathnayake RSP USP psc- Dean of the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, and Mr Kithsiri Amaratunga- Dean of the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities were the Guests of Honor of the event.
The exhibition was filled with very creative and innovative business ideas from the students. The first place in the exhibition was awarded to the ‘Denima’ team, which designed bags and accessories from used denim. The second place was achieved by the team ‘Coco’ that introduced amazing coconut extracts to drinks and food like waffles (with flour made from used coconut). The third place was awarded to the team ‘Hungry peep’, which came up with the business idea of making snacks from jackfruit seeds. The exhibition was a remarkable opportunity for young undergraduates to develop their entrepreneurial skills.
