KDU enters into an agreement with the National Water supply and Drainage Board to conduct a joint course for professionals from the water industry
On the sidelines of the opening ceremony organized by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) of their new Centre of Excellence for Water and Sanitation (CEWAS) on 14th December 2022, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) entered into an agreement with NWSDB to jointly conduct a certificate course on “Operation & Maintenance In Wastewater Treatment Plants”.
The Vice Chancellor of KDU, Major General Milinda Peiris and the Chairman of the NWSDB Mr Nishanth Ranatunga signed the Agreement in the presence of Hon Minister of Water Supply and Drainage Dr Kehelia Rambukwella and other dignitaries.
Both KDU and NWSDB intends to advertise the programme for professionals in the water industry and offer the course for the first batch in January 2023. This Agreement was part of the many activities planned by both the government institutions as part of the MOU signed in February this year.
The Agreement signing ceremony was also attended by the Dean Faculty of Engineering, Capt (retd) SU Dampage, Dean Faculty of Technology, Dr Prasanna Premadasa, Prof Kumari Fernando and several other academics and students of KDU.
