Colours Night of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University 2020 / 2021

Celebrating and honouring the achievements of 133 sportsmen and women for their exceptional performance in sports during the years 2020 and 2021, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University ceremonially conducted its Colours Night 2020/2021 on 15^th December 2022. The event was held at the Main Auditorium of the Faculty of Graduate Studies with the gracious premiership of the Vice Chancellor, Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil.

The event was organized as a magnificent evening of recognizing the talents and determination manifested by the military and civilian undergraduates in uplifting the university to the crest and encouraging them to enhance their sporting talents and elevate them to higher levels. Further, a certificate was awarded in appreciation of the valuable contribution to KDU’s promotion of sports by the coaches of the respective sports. This event represented the collective effort of all involved in uplifting sports at KDU. In addition, certificates were awarded to the best two Syndicate Presentation Groups of intake 38 admiring their academic skills and teamwork.

The Rector, Metropolitan Campus, Maj Gen ALDM Gunasekara RSP USP psc, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence & Administration) and Chairman of the Sports Council of KDU Brigadier W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, The Director of Sports of Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, The Director of Sports of Sri Lanka Navy, Commodore AKR Athukorala RWP RSP psc, The Director of Sports of Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Commodore SN Fernandopulle USP, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. KAS Dhammika, Deans of Faculties, and members of the academic and military staff also participated in this important event.
