Inaugural Lecture and Oath Taking Ceremony – MBBS Students – Intake 39

The Annual Oath Taking Ceremony for first-year medical students (Intake 39) took place on January 11, 2023, at the main auditorium of the university. In addition, a guest lecture was delivered concurrently with the ceremony. Professor GC Goonatilleke, MBBS (Ceylon), LRCP (London), MRCS (London), and FRCS(England), who was the guest lecturer at the Faculty’s invitation shared his life-long professional experience to inspire and motivate students.
Major General MP Peiris RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, MPhil the Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University graced the occasion as the chief guest. Brigadier DCA Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration), Air Cdre (Prof) RANK Wijesinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Deans of the other Faculties and academic and non-academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine were also present at the occasion.
