The 3rd Student Symposium of Faculty of Computing
The 3rd Student Symposium of Faculty of Computing of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, was successfully conducted on the 18th of January 2023 at the Faculty of Graduate Studies Auditorium in KDU.
Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Director of University of Colombo School of Computing and the President of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), Dr Ajantha Athukorale and the AI Policy Adviser to the Government of Korea, Prof Eun Chang Choi delivered the key note speeches.
The Rector Metropolitan Campus Major General Lal Gunasekara, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration) Brigadier Chinthaka Wicramasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. Sanath Dammika, Dr Asela Gunasekara, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Deans of the other Faculties, Directors, the Symposium Chair Dr (Mrs) Nirosha Wedasinghe, the immediate past president Mr Damith Hettihewa, representatives from the IT industry, academic staff members and the students of the Faculty of Computing were also present at the occasion. This was mainly organized by the Students of CSSL GenZ Chapter of KDU.
After a strict double blind review, 67 abstracts were selected and presented at the symposium. 10 sessions were conducted over five main domains of Computing, namely Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Information Systems.
