FOT Inaugurates its first student talent show “ස්වරප්‍රභා”

On January 20, 2023, the Faculty of Technology held its inaugural student talent show “ස්වරප්‍රභා”.  The Vice Chancellor of KDU, Major General Milinda Peiris, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Parents, students, deans and directors from the other faculties, senior administrative staff, senior military officers, and academic staff attended the event.

The event featured a variety of student performances, including singing, dancing, and drama. There were 14 contestants from both intakes, representing all four-degree programmes. A panel of three invited artists who were experts in their respective fields judged the contestants. The winning act was chosen based on the judges’ evaluations and the audiences’ votes. The drama “කෝලාහලය” performed by the ICT students of Intake 39 emerged victorious at the inaugural talent show.

At the end of the show, the Vice Chancellor praised the students for their hard work and creativity in preparing and performing their acts and encouraged them to continue their efforts. He also took the opportunity to congratulate the Faculty on the successful launch of the student talent show.

The event was well-received by the audience who expressed admiration for the student’s talent and creativity. ස්වරප්‍රභා was a great success and has set the tone for future events.
