General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Southern Campus, Sooriyawewa Hosts the 460th Committee of Vice Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) Meeting

The 460^th meeting of the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) was held on 04^th March 2023, hosted by General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Southern Campus, Sooriyawewa. Nineteen Vice Chancellors and Rectors of the state universities and campuses were warmly received by the Rector Southern Campus KDU Major General LCR Jayasooriya RSP ndc psc in the preceding evening, and they have hosted a dinner at the Officers’ Mess of Southern Campus KDU. On the following morning, all dignitaries participated in the CVCD meeting where important matters in the higher education sector of Sri Lanka were discussed. After the formal discussion, the Rector of Southern Campus KDU briefed CVCD members about the best practices within Southern Campus. Further, Vice Chancellor KDU stressed the requirement of establishing a Drug-free environment within the universities to facilitate a conducive learning atmosphere for the undergraduates. Finally, the Rector of Southern Campus KDU presented mementoes to all the participants to mark the event and the visit to KDU Southern Campus, Sooriyawewa.
