High Commissioner of Maldives Visits KDU
The High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ali Faiz visited KDU as a courtesy call to General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University on 21st March 2023 and met with Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Vice Chancellor of KDU. Ms Fathimath Ghina, the Deputy High Commissioner of Maldives, Brigadier DCA Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence & Administration), Dr KMGP Premadasa, the Director of International Relations, and Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Amir, the Defence Advisor of Maldives National Defence Force participated in the meeting. During the visit, the High Commissioner Ali Faiz had a productive and fruitful discussion with the Vice Chancellor on a number of matters of mutual interest.
After meeting the Vice Chancellor, the High Commissioner met the Officer Cadets and Day Scholars of Maldives and discussed all the issues and difficulties that students face during their stay in Sri Lanka. Currently, KDU hosts a number of Officer Cadets and Day Scholars from the Maldives.
The High Commissioner also visited the University Hospital (UHKDU) and there he visited all the facilities of the University Hospital. The Director Medical Service, Brigadier PS Thilakarathne and Director Administration, Brigadier LWSR Wettasignhe welcomed the High Commissioner.
