Erabadu Wasanthaya – 2023
Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration for year 2023 was ceremonially held at the University premises from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm on 06th April 2023 with the participation of the members of KDU family.
The ceremony was graced by Major General MP Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence and Administration), Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Deans of Faculties, HODs, Directors, Academic Staff, Administrative Officers, Civil Staff, Officer Cadets and Day-Scholars also participated to the ceremonial event.
The activities of the event commenced with traditional Avurudu rituals, including lighting the oil lamp and sharing Avurudu sweetmeats and followed by a series of traditional Avurudu games which added an unforgettable experience for all the participants. Also the various games and colorful activities, created a delightful festive mood as the All the members of KDU staff, students and the children of the staff members and their families indulged in the joy of Avurudu.
