General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Alumni Association (Australia Chapter) Inc.
The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Alumni Association established its first overseas chapter in Australia at the inaugural meeting held at the Returned and Services League (RSL) Glen Waverley, Victoria on 25th February 2023 with the participation of a large number of former KDA/KDU Alumni both in person and virtually. The members the alumni were honoured by the Vice Chancellor and the gathering was also graced by his presence throughout despite his busy schedule. The following members including a Day Scholar, representing almost all States of Australia were elected to the Executive Committee for 2023 to 2025 at this Inaugural Meeting:

The newly elected Executive Committee is now in the process of Registering the Australia Chapter with Consumer Affairs Victoria.
The newly formed Alumni Association (Australia Chapter) of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University had the honour of hosting the Vice Chancellor and his lady at a function held on 21st April 2023 at the Cinnamon Club in Cheltenham, Victoria. The Vice Chancellor presented mementoes to all the Ex KDA/KDU officers present, and also he shared a plaque with the President of the Australia Chapter.
Addressing the gathering the Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of everyone who contributed to form the first overseas branch of the GSJKDUAA and stressed the importance of supporting KDU and the students. He further elaborated on the progress and achievements of the KDU and the recognition it has gained locally and internationally.
