KDU Launches 10-Year Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development
The Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara today unveiled its ambitious 10-year strategic plan, outlining a bold vision for sustainable development. The plan outlines a comprehensive roadmap to address global challenges including Quality Education, Gender Equality, Reduced inequalities, Decent work & Econ Growth.
The strategic roadmap will prioritize Quality Education by integrating sustainability into the curriculum, empowering future generations to address global challenges. To ensure Gender Equality, the university will foster a diverse and inclusive campus environment, empowering women and marginalized groups. By collaborating with local communities, the university will contribute to Reduced Inequalities, addressing social and economic disparities. Finally, through research and innovation, the university will drive Decent Work and Economic Growth, creating sustainable jobs and promoting economic development.
The Vice Chancellor in his speech stated that ” This strategic roadmap is not just a document. It’s a call to action. It’s a call to shape the future of our alma Matar”.
