Final Year Project Exhibition 2024: Celebrating Innovation and Excellence in Engineering

The Final Year Project Exhibition 2024, organized by the Board for Academic Research and Publication Development at the Faculty of Engineering, was held on 23rd January 2023 at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including our Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc. Deputy Vice Chancellor, Brigadier DCA Wickramasinghe, USP, USACGSC, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Thushara Weerawardhane, along with Deans from other Faculties, Directors, Heads of Departments, Professors, Senior Military Officers, and distinguished academics.

The inauguration ceremony was elevated by the insightful speech delivered by our esteemed guest speaker, Eng. Nalin S. de Silva, currently serving as the Director of State Engineering Corporation and the Managing Director of NSDS Associates Pvt. Ltd.

Projects spanning across eight engineering disciplines were showcased, demonstrating the dedication and innovative spirit of our final-year students. The primary objective of the exhibition was to inspire and encourage students towards research and innovation, fostering a culture of continuous learning and advancement.

The exhibition drew not only students and academics from various universities but also professionals from the industry who were eager to witness the diversity of projects on display. A panel of experts from academia and industry meticulously evaluated the projects, recognizing outstanding achievements in each discipline. The event culminated with a grand award ceremony, acknowledging and celebrating the best projects from the exhibition. This marks yet another successful effort by the Faculty of Engineering at KDU in nurturing a vibrant research culture and promoting excellence in engineering.
