Closing Ceremony of the Annual Inter-Faculty Games – 2024

The closing ceremony of the Annual Inter-Faculty Games of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was held at the KDU Basketball court on 22^nd April 2024. The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS), theVice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration) and President of the Sports Council of KDU, Major General Chinthaka Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC, Deans of all the Faculties, Senior Lecturers, Officers, Officer Cadets and Day Scholars participated in the closing ceremony of the Annual Inter-Faculty Games. The Basketball Tournament was the last Inter-Faculty Game, and the final game of the basketball tournament was held glamorously along with the formalities.

With outstanding performances from all ten faculties of KDU during the Annual Inter-Faculty Games, the following faculties have been crowned as Champions and Runners Up in the closing ceremony.

   Champions – Men: FOE
   Champions – Women: FOL
   Runners up – Men : FOM
   Runners up – Women : FAHS
2. Inter-Faculty Table Tennis Tournament
   Champions: FAHS
   Joint runners up: FOM&FOC
3. Inter-Faculty Rowing Tournament
   Champions: FOE
   Runners up: FMSH
4. Inter-Faculty Wushu Tournament
   Champions: FOM
   Runners up: FDSS
5. Inter-Faculty Baseball Tournament
   Champions: FMSH
   Runners up: FDSS

Further, winners of Karate and Boxing Championship were appreciated with following special awards:

• Best Boxer Men – 6391 FSM KHN Pushpakumara –FOC
• Best Looser Men – 6569 C/SGT GBD Prabashwara – FOM
• Best Boxer Woman – 6741 LOC KAMN Perera – FMSH

The awarding ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest  Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS), the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and due appreciation was made towards the commitment, dedication displayed by the KDU sportsmen. and women Finally, the declaration of the Inter Faculty Games Tournament officially closed.
