KDU Makes Impressive Debut in SLASU Novices Water Polo Championship 2024
General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) marked its inaugural appearance in the SLASU Novices Water Polo Championship 2024 with an outstanding performance, securing the 1st runner-up position in the open men’s category. The tournament, featuring 28 teams across various age groups (under 9, 11, 13, 15, and open), culminated in an intense final showdown between KDU and the Sri Lanka Air Force water polo team, where the KDU water polo team emerged as the open category champions.
In their quest/pursuit for glory, KDU’s male water polo squad exhibited skill and determination, led by their captain, SKV Hatharasinghe, and vice-captain GEV De Silva. The team’s goalkeeper, DMUPHB Dunusinghe, showcased exceptional talent in guarding the net throughout the tournament.
