Pipping Ceremony of Intake 35 MBBS Officer Cadets: A Momentous Occasion
June 25, 2024, marked a significant event in the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) calendar. In a solemn yet celebratory ceremony, the Pipping Ceremony for the MBBS Officer Cadets of Intake 35 marked a pivotal milestone in their journey. Held on Tuesday, the ceremony honored the dedication and perseverance of these 2 x Officer Cadets from the Sri Lanka Army and Navy who successfully completed a seven-year and two-month Advanced Military training course. The occasion, known as the “Intake 35 MBBS Pipping Ceremony,” was graced by the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor of KDU, Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS). In addition to the Vice Chancellor, the event was attended by other distinguished guests, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration), all Rectors, the Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies (FDSS), and the Faculty of Medicine (FOM), as well as the Adjutant, Squadron Commanders, Troop Commanders, Other Ranks Instructors, and esteemed academia.
