Opening of the Erasmus Project Office at KDU- 24th July 2024
General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) is excited to announce the opening of its new Erasmus Project Office. This office is located at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences building in Werahara and represents KDU’s commitment to enhancing international collaborations, educational relations, and capacity building.
KDU is dedicated to expand its global reach through various international collaborations, fostering academic exchanges, increasing capacity building, and promoting staff and cultural exchanges. The Erasmus program is a cornerstone of these efforts, and KDU is currently involved in five Erasmus projects across different disciplines.
KDU established this new office, guided by the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara to enhance the capacity of all Erasmus projects at KDU. The inauguration was blessed with a ‘Pirith Chanting’ event, adding a touch of tradition and solemnity to the occasion.
Dr. Prasanna Herath, a Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, has been appointed as the Erasmus Coordinator for this new office with full confidence in his ability to lead Erasmus initiatives to new heights. KDU extends its best wishes to Dr. Prasanna Herath, with the hope that he would elevate the standards of the university and its mission of international excellence.
The presence of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence and Administration) Major General DCA Wickramasinghe, Brigadier LWSR Wettasinghe (Director-Administration University Hospital-KDU, Surgeon Captain NRP Perera (Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences), and other distinguished academic members graced the opening ceremony held on 24th July 2024.
