KDU Interfaculty Rugby Tournament 2025 Highly – Energetic Presentation of Skill and Team Work

The KDU Interfaculty Rugby Tournament 2025 was successfully held on 2nd and 3rd of February 2025 at the KDU Rathmalana Rugby Ground. The tournament brought together spirited competitors from all faculties who exhibited their expertise and sportsmanship in a challenging and competitive arena.
A total of 07 teams participated in the tournament, representing the following faculties:
- Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies (FDSS)
- Faculty of Engineering (FOE)
- Faculty of Computing (FOC)
- Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH)
- Faculty of Law (FOL)
- Faculty of Criminal Justice (FOCJ)
- Faculty of Technology (FOT)
The tournament finished with a captivating exhibition of ability, determination, and teamwork. The concluding results were as follows:
- Champions: Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities (FMSH)
- Runners-up: Faculty of Criminal Justice (FOCJ)
- Second Runners-up: Faculty of Engineering (FOE)
Individual Achievements
- Best Player: SMST Bandara (Officer Cadet)
- Most Points Scorer: WRSMHDB Higgoda (Day scholar)
The certificates, medals and trophies awarding ceremony was held on the 7th of February 2025 at KDU Rathmalana. The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of KDU, Rear Admiral HGU Dhammika Kumara VSV USP psc Maritime Pol BSc (DS) as the Chief Guest.
The KDU Interfaculty Rugby Tournament 2025 was a resounding success which strengthened bonds among students and signified the essence of healthy competition. This event reaffirmed KDU’s undeniable commitment in providing a holistic education, where sports are essential in shaping well-rounded individuals.
