Inter Faculty Badminton Tournament 2025

The Inter-Faculty Badminton Tournament 2025, a highlight of the KDU Games, took place on February 06th and 07th at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. The event saw enthusiastic participation from ten faculties, each showcasing remarkable talent and sportsmanship.
The Faculty of Medicine clinched the championship title, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament. The Faculty of Engineering secured the runner-up position, while the Faculty of Law earned a commendable third place.
In the men’s singles category, Officer Cadet GGCK Dissanayaka faced off against Day-Scholar NM Palliyaguru in a thrilling final match. Officer Cadet Dissanayaka emerged victorious, displaying outstanding athleticism and strategy.
The women’s singles final featured Lady Officer Cadet VA Edirisinghe competing against Day-Scholar RABI Chandrasekara. Lady Officer Cadet Edirisinghe secured the win, showcasing remarkable determination and skill.
The tournament was officiated by esteemed umpires from Sri Lanka Badminton, including Mr. Pahan Adithya, Mr. Tharindu Madushan, Mr. Ashiff Bongso, and Mr. Dilranga Wijethilake. The role of referee was adeptly handled by Mr. Sanjeewa Wijesekara, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules.
