KDU Inter-Faculty Swimming Championship 2025

The KDU Inter-Faculty Swimming Championship 2025 was successfully held on the 12th, 13th and 18th of February 2025 at the KDU Rathmalana Swimming pool. The championship brought together talented swimmers from all faculties, who displayed remarkable skill, endurance, and sportsmanship in a highly competitive environment.
A total of 10 faculties participated in the championship, representing the following faculties:
- Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies (FDSS)
- Faculty of Engineering (FOE)
- Faculty of Computing (FOC)
- Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS)
- Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities (FMSH)
- Faculty of Law (FOL)
- Faculty of Criminal Justice (FOCJ)
- Faculty of Technology (FOT)
- Faculty of Built Environment and Spatical Sciences (FBESS)
The event witnessed intense competition across various swimming categories, culminating in an exciting finale. The final results were as follows:
- Champions: Faculty of Medicine (FOM)
- Runners-up: Faculty of Law (FOL)
- Second Runners-up: Faculty of Computing (FOC)
Individual Achievements
Women’s Category:
Best Female Swimmer: D/S VS Varsha (FOM)
Men’s Category:
Best Male Swimmer: O/C NS Ahamed (FOE)
The certificate, medal, and trophy awarding ceremony was held on the 25th of February 2025 at KDU Rathmalana. The event was graced by Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc, MMaritimePol, BSc (DS) as the Chief Guest.
The KDU Inter-Faculty Swimming Championship 2025 was a tremendous success, fostering camaraderie among students and promoting a spirit of healthy competition. The event reaffirmed KDU’s commitment to holistic education, where sports play a vital role in shaping well-rounded individuals.
