Inter-Faculty Table Tennis Tournament 2025

The Inter-Faculty Table Tennis Tournament 2025, a highlight of the KDU Games, took place on February 24th and 25th at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. The event saw enthusiastic participation from ten faculties, each showcasing remarkable talent and sportsmanship.
The Faculty of Medicine clinched the championship title, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament. The Faculty of Engineering secured the runner-up position, while the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities earned a commendable third place.
In the men’s singles category, Officer Cadet LGH Liyanage faced off against Officer Cadet DKT Liyanage in a thrilling final match. Officer Cadet LGH Liyanage emerged victorious, displaying outstanding technique and agility.
The women’s singles final featured Dilanya Munasinghe competing against Umasha De Silva. Dilanya Munasinghe secured the win, showcasing remarkable precision and strategic play.
The men’s team event saw the Faculty of Engineering take the top spot, followed by the Faculty of Medicine in second place and the Faculty of Management, Social Sciences, and Humanities securing third place. In the women’s team category, the Faculty of Medicine triumphed, with the Faculty of Allied Health Science taking the runner-up position and the Faculty of Computing finishing in third place.
The tournament was officiated by esteemed umpires from Sri Lanka Table Tennis, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules. Currently, O/C HLD Heshanka is leading the team under the guidance of Major PSC Fernando and Captain KHDW Anuradhi. The KDU team is poised to achieve further victories in the near future.
