The Overall Championship Title was Claimed by the Faculty of Medicine – KDU Inter Faculty Powerlifting Tournament 2025

In marking another milestone in KDU history, the university hosted Inter-Faculty Powerlifting Tournament on 08 March 2025 at the Gymnasium. The event showcased the authentic power and determination of the university’s lifters, as they competed fiercely for glory and honour.
The Overall Championship Title was awarded to the Faculty of Medicine, which demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication by winning an impressive total of 6 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, and 4 Bronze Medals. The Faculty of Engineering followed closely, securing the Runners-Up position with 4 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 2 Bronze Medals, showcasing their remarkable strength and talent. The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences achieved the position of 2nd Runners-Up, reflecting their commendable performance throughout the competition.
Recognizing outstanding achievements, Officer Cadet PAGA Chathuranga from the Faculty of Medicine was named ‘Best Male Lifter,’ further establishing his reputation as a powerhouse in powerlifting. Additionally, Day Scholar IDSNB Gunawardhane from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences received the ‘Best Female Lifter’ title, showcasing the diversity and talent among KDU’s athletes.
