Leadership Programme for Samudradewi

On March 9, 2025, the Leadership Cell of the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies hosted a comprehensive Leadership Programme for students at Samudradevi Balika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda. Targeting the prefects from Grades 8 to 12, the programme engaged 155 students, aiming to cultivate their leadership skills. This initiative was crafted to impart essential knowledge and experience, enhancing their confidence in developing their leadership potential.
The primary objective of the programme was to equip students with practical leadership skills, covering effective communication, teamwork, decision-making, and etiquette. It sought to nurture self-confidence, enhance interpersonal skills, and instil a sense of responsibility.
The Leadership Programme featured a diverse range of activities, including lectures on leadership, sessions on mess etiquette, games, team-building exercises, and cultural events. Each component was thoughtfully selected to reinforce the students’ leadership qualities.
The programme was met with resounding success, as reflected in the positive feedback from participants. Students expressed gratitude for the knowledge and skills acquired, noting an increase in self-confidence, an enhanced understanding of leadership, and a stronger sense of teamwork. The initiative provided a supportive environment for students to develop and showcase their abilities, significantly impacting their personal growth.
