Joint Commander of the French Forces in the Indian Ocean, Visits Regional Centre for Maritime Studies (RCMS)

Rear Admiral Hugues Laine, Joint Commander of the French Forces in the Indian Ocean, conducted an official visit to the Regional Centre for Maritime Studies today, as part of his visit to Sri Lanka.

The Admiral’s schedule began with a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor, followed by a conference titled “France in the Indian Ocean Region: A Maritime Perspective”. During this session, Admiral Laine shared insights on France’s strategic interests in Indo Pacific Region.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Regional Centre for Maritime Studies (RCMS). This visit underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing shared maritime challenges in the Indian Ocean Region and highlights the strengthening relationship between France and Sri Lanka.
