General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Shines at the University of Colombo Netball Championship

The Vice-Chancellor Challenge Trophy Invitational Netball Championship 2025 was successfully held on the 06 of July at the University of Colombo grounds, bringing together top netball talent from four leading universities in Sri Lanka. The tournament featured competitive participation from the University of Colombo, University of Sabaragamuwa, University of Peradeniya and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). The tournament was organized on a league basis, where each team faced the others in a series of thrilling matches that showcased exceptional skill, strategy and team spirit.

Demonstrating outstanding performance and teamwork throughout the tournament, the KDU netball team emerged as undefeated champions as they secured victory in all the matches. With an impressive tally of 6 points, KDU clinched the championship trophy, underlining their dominance and determination on the court.

The event not only highlighted the athletic talent of the participating universities but also fostered camaraderie, sportsmanship, and the spirit of university sports.
