Blood Donation Campaign Organized by Sri Lanka Scout Association in Collaboration with Bangladesh High Commission at University Hospital-KDU

Sri Lanka Scout Association in collaboration with the Bangladesh High Commission, celebrates the World Scouts Founder’s Day and International Mother Language Day on the 21st of February every year. The Nobel act of blood donation has been chosen as a social service to encourage young scouts to become future blood donors.
The Scout Association organised the first blood donation programme in 2020 under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor of KDU and the former Chief Commissioner of Scout Association, Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil. This event is the third consecutive annual event and approximately 75 voluntary blood donors are expected to donate blood.
The Vice Chancellor of KDU, Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka, HE Tareq Md. Ariful Islam, Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scout Association, Mr Janaprith Fernando, Acting Executive Director Prof. Jayantha Balawardane, Director Medical Service, Brigadier (Dr) PS Thilakaratne, Head of the Department of Transfusion medicine, University Hospital KDU, Dr.Trilicia Withanawasam and scouts participated in the event.
